Shany Porras is the founder of Art in the Berkshires, a media service connecting artists, venues, and art lovers across Berkshire County. A transformational leader with a background in business strategy and the arts, she co-founded the Clock Tower Artists, fostering an artist collective in Pittsfield, MA, and curated exhibitions, including a permanent collection acquisition by Lee Bank. As Gallery Manager for the Guild of Berkshire Artists, she launched its first juried prize show and managed year-round exhibitions.
In addition to leading Art in the Berkshires, Shany is an abstract painter, translating music into visual form. She holds a B.F.A. in Painting and Printmaking and a B.A. in Art History from Rice University. Through her art and Art in the Berkshires, she champions local artists while continuing to expand her own creative practice.
